30 Day Writer's Challenge | Day 15

Be a writer, I dare you!

I'm a huge fan of Ernest Hemingway. I am most impressed with his six word story (want to read my six word story, you can find it [and so much more] here.) As a matter of fact I think my next challenge to myself will be to read his works. All of them. Why not, right? He was committed, you know. He was a writer, and there is no doubt of this. (Am I the only person who thinks it odd that he was born in a suburb of Chi-town? He needs to be from somewhere far more romantic if you ask me.)

I was thinking about this tonight, the idea of being a writer. I am. Of course I am, I write every day for you. No, not necessarily just for you, I always write for me. Then there are days when I write for someone else and they may never have a clue. Either way, being a writer takes commitment.

If you've notice on my side bar I have links to a lot of blogs. This is how I follow what is happening on the blogs of everyone from my besties to complete strangers to career advice givers. This system works well for me because it tells me when the last post was written and I have access to the link right there in one convenient place. Most recently (during this little challenge) I have been slacking in the blog reading department. I try to get the gist of what's going on, but I am missing so much.

Some of my most favorite bloggers (and not coincidentally, most popular in the blog world) write almost every day. Here I sit on day 15 of the 30 Day Writer's Challenge and realized that I have to do better, I need to check myself before I wreck myself! Not just during the challenge (because I hope I am providing sufficient comic relief mixed with serious subtleties) but after. I need to do better. I will do better.

Oddly this all sounds far too familiar...you know, like when you recommit to eat better and exercise more. Then one of your friends calls and wants to go grab a bite of _______ (noun/food) at freaking 9:30 p.m. What is wrong with you guys!?! Can't you see I have commitment issues!

Special shout out to my 4-of-eight rock stars.
Your comments made me smile.
Thanks for being so loyal and reading while...

soap making
baby feeding
moving to Europe (sobs)
blog recommitting (hey, me too!)
schooling & movie warehousing
and living the high life in Cruses

Thanks for comments, they always make my day!

Everyone else...hint! hint!

I love that you are working on writing. You post got me thinking and off on a tangent about banned books and that lead to blog post of my own.
