I know it's been a while since my last post. Believe me, I'm as tired of looking at the last one as you guys are! But never fear, I have some awesome posts ready to share.
Let's get started with at least one tonight.
A few weeks ago I covered an event in Knoxville for one of my co-workers. It was a women's show and for the most part there wasn't much I was interested in seeing. Until I saw this darling little stool:
I knew I HAD to make it for Charley and her new bedroom.
I also knew I couldn't do it alone. I didn't have to talk him into it, Levi was all over this cute little project. Needless to say I was excited he was so eager to help.
The next Saturday we headed to the orange box store that everyone visits on the weekends.
It took only a moment from this brilliant brother of mine and an orange apron to figure out the best options for our little project. $50 later and we were on our way to Levi's to get started.
I knew Levi would have tools, but I didn't know he would have all the right tools!
We had to cut circles out of plywood for the seat. Levi rigged his router up so we would have the perfect size for our buckets.
The leftover circle...the perfect project just waiting for some hot glue and craft paper!
Levi even let me do some routing...I helped make our mess even bigger.
We took a break for lunch and Levi posed with our first finished toadstool:
And the three (yes, only three) toadstools before we added the fabric and padding:
Next we jumped into the table.
Pretty easy, just a straight cut but I "made" Levi rout the edges, I didn't want to mess it up.
Home Depot didn't have legs the height I wanted so we bought super thick dowel rods, threaded pieces, and the female parts that screw into the bottom of the table. Levi had to get out the grinder and cut the threaded pieces down, but it was lightening quick!
And here is Levi with our almost finished project:
Charley's momma, Kelly helped me pick out the fabric to match her orange and pink room:
And here is the little munchkin thrilled as a peach at her new table!
Charley helped Kelly and I paint the table white and it is now sitting pretty in her new bedroom.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the final project. But I will get one, I promise!
For now I leave you with a picture of Charley on her new bed, in her new room:
She is so stinking cute!
And heck ya, I'll be sleeping on that trundle bed during sleepovers.

wow, genius! I love the alternative use of food storage buckets! You could fill those babies with rice, snap on the lid and flip them right back over. Very cute, very functional and that Charley girl is cute as pie.
