"Oh, that is so sad."

This morning I was lucky enough to teach the 9 & 10 year old Primary class at church. Class was over and we were waiting outside the Primary room for the Junior Primary to leave so we could go in for Sharing/Singing Time. Directly next to the Primary room is the Bishop's office for another ward. On the wall next to his door is a glass case that displays the locations of all the missionaries serving from that ward. On the right side of the same case you will find wedding announcements of those that have or will soon be enjoying coupled bliss from that same ward.

All the boys were looking at the missionary photos and locations while young Emily I stood looking at the marriage announcements. Very matter-of-fact explained to me that..."This is for the singles ward. That's only for people who aren't married yet." I smiled and looked down at her and said "That's right. I'm not married either."

In slow motion and with the most daunting look on her face she looked straight at me and said "Oh, that is so sad."

I thought she was going to cry.

Oh my gosh, bless her sweet little nine year old heart. She just loves you!

I hope you're doing well. We just had another singles conference in HB recently and I thought of you and our chance meeting. :)

That's high-larious! Write that down and hand it to her the day she goes to a singles ward for the first time :)
