Spiritual Sandwich & Helper Sticks

Tonight...scratch that, this morning, I am working on "Sharing Time" for the leadership training I am giving tomorrow night. I decided to use a spiritual sandwich for the visual to work in with being spiritually fed. I had planned on using the overhead projector in the Teacher Resources Center at KSU, but when I got there Thursday night it wouldn't turn on. The girls there were nice enough to offer their help when they saw I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I did the easiest one there...the bread, while the three others that helped drew the cheese, meat, lettuce and tomatoes freehand. They were amazing and I would never have been able to finish had they not helped. After they did the initial coloring I went over it with different colors for depth and then had them laminated. (p.s. I went to FedEx/Kinko's to have them laminated and wow, that was pricey...$3 per sq. ft. I didn't have enough time to have it done at the resources center as planned, but I will make sure I do the next time...it is so much less money up there!)

Here is the final product:

I also decided I would make "Helper Sticks" (that's what I call them) to use during the training too. I basically wanted to show the ward presidencies how they can do it in their own wards and this is just one of the ideas I saw. I decided to do all girls, since we will have all women at the training. I think they turned out great. (I am going to put names on them...obviously)

Now it is 4 a.m. and I must get some sleep. I will just have to finish the rest of this in the morning.

Those are cute! I have been thinking of doing something like the helper sticks for my choirister position. Thanks for the cute face idea.

Such cute ideas! Helper sticks are great. I used them all the time when I was in Primary.
